WBT… About doing less to be more.

Last week we talked about doing a reset. Maybe you did it, maybe you didn’t. No matter, because this week we’re sharing some tangibles that will help with that regardless of whether you’re ready to jump in or not.

I know that right now you’re probably thinking “How can I possibly do less? There’s so much that needs to get done and there’s no-one else to do it!” What if you were open to another possibility?

What follows is a little tough love. I hope it resonates and helps you ride the rest of the season with extra peace and joy!

  1. You don’t have to be responsible for everything. If you think you do, you’ve probably allowed it to be that way.

  2. Not everything actually has to be done. At least not right now. And just because you always have, doesn’t mean it has to continue.

  3. Sharing a task with someone else can save time and make it more fun while it builds skills in them and you and fosters your connection. And remember: always doing for someone isn’t necessarily doing them any favors.

  4. When life sends you a message, listen to it. If something happens and you don’t have time to do the thing(s) without compromising yourself or your needs then it’s probably not meant to happen. Try to be okay with that.

  5. Repeat after me - “I deserve the time I carve out for myself every single day for my self-care”. No exceptions. Self-care absolutely creates time, fosters self-love, builds resilience and vastly improves physical, mental and spiritual health. For your sake, please don’t skip it.

And there you have it. It isn’t everything but it’s a start. I bet if you think about it, you have some ideas specific to you that you can use to do less too! (And just imagine how different your life would be if you actually did them!)
