WBT… About finding your inner beauty while connecting to your inner world.

A couple of weeks ago, you learned how to create a calm inner world. Have you been practicing? Just so you know, it’s not a one and done thing. I’m still practicing. In fact, I’m still practicing all the stuff I talk about. Just when I get comfortable with one concept or “practice” an opportunity appears to dive deeper or see something differently or just keep moving. And so I do. Sometimes with resistance and sometimes it’s a start, stop and repeat. But that’s a topic for another day.

How much do you think about your inner beauty? What if you spent the same amount of time each day on your inner beauty as you do on your outer beauty? Wait! Don’t decide you don’t have time and quit reading. You can take some of the time from your least favorite distractions and invest it in your relationship with the amazing, authentic person that is you.

If you’re like me, you don’t always think that you’re amazing or authentic or many of the other traits that you respect and love. That’s normal too. What with our ego giving us smackdowns via self-talk far too regularly, should we expect to feel any differently?

We might not expect it, but we can feel differently. And that feeling is not going to come from outside ourselves. It’s an inside job!

We are all beautiful inside, we just need to get to know ourselves so we can fully appreciate the perfectly complicated, incredibly worthy people that we are. So how about we do just that?

Okay, so today, I’d like you to start thinking about this. I’d like you to think about when you can make time to do this, aiming for every day. What twenty to 30 minutes of distraction are you willing to give up to be happier, more connected to yourself and the people you care about and to be able to give and receive love?

  1. Make a list of your daily distractions (social media scrolling, watching tv, ruminating on negative things) and how much time you spend on each.

  2. Identify 20 or 30 minutes that could be used for good. Ideally, these would be in the morning before you start your work or school or life. Or in the evening before bed.

  3. Do this for a week and see how much time you feel like you can commit to and when.

  4. Think about how amazing it will feel to be happier, more connected to yourself and your people and to be full of love.

Let us know how it goes!
